Three questions to Leatitia who is our specialist for coaching with horses

Laetitia, what is equine facilitated coaching?

"Equine facilitated learning is the coaching of people and teams, based on the man-horse relationship. No equestrian knowledge is required. The participants, on foot, are put in real-life situations with the horse. The exercises are within the reach of each and take place in a secure environment."

In what does working with a horse help the coaching of people?

"The horse is the image of our behavior and our emotions. If we are happy or stressed, the horse will feel it and act on it. Like a mirror, this allows an immediate awareness and a readjustment of our own actions. It helps the shy to become extroverted, a leader a little too directive to soften... Moreover, the horse does not judge and allows everyone to be oneself."

What does a session of equine facilitated coaching contain?

"The observation of it's behaviour and the care of the animal are the starting point of any session. Horses and participants then go to the quarry or the carousel, and engage in different exercises. The sessions usually last a ½ day, punctuated by a debriefing: awareness, adjustments made and possible work directions for the future are discussed in a friendly framework allowing everyone to express themselves with confidence."
